Staying on track with your health and fitness on the weekend can be challenging. Invitations to parties, dinners, and happy hours are a quick way to feel derailed on your goals.
But, there are practical and easy-to-attain goals to keep on track.
Get active. Whether going to the gym, for a walk, doing yoga, or doing a workout video, find an activity you enjoy and do it at least once over the weekend.
Get plenty of rest. It can be tempting to stay up late and sleep in, but adequate sleep can help keep your immune system strong and prevent you from getting sick.
Eat healthily. Try to cook at home for most meals. Make healthy snacks like hummus, veggies, or a protein smoothie. Avoid processed, fried, or sugary foods.
Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is vital for your overall health. If you have a couple of cocktails over the weekend, have a glass of water between drinks. And focus on getting enough water during the day.
Take some time for yourself. Spend some time during the weekend doing something you enjoy, like reading a book, taking a hot bath, or doing a hobby/project that makes you happy.
