5 "must-haves" for home workouts

Updated: Feb 9

Working out at home can be a great way to begin your fitness journey. And, even if you have a gym membership. It's helpful to have items at home that can help you stay active on days when your schedule doesn't permit a trip to the gym.

Resistance bands

These are great for toning and building strength without any need for weights. I'm linking to the set pictured above on Amazon. I like this set pictured above because it has a carrying bag, handles, ankle straps, and a door anchor. These are also great to take on vacation to stay active.

Exercise mat

A comfortable and supportive surface for floor exercises. Perfect for stretching, yoga, abdominal exercises, and more. I like the mat shown above because it's thick and easy to roll up and store.

Foam roller

Perfect for stretching and deep tissue massage. I like the one shown above because it's smaller than some foam rollers and can easily be packed for a road trip or in a carry-on.

Yoga block

Perfect for helping to improve flexibility and stability. These can help you progress with your stretching. I've linked to the Yoga Block that Amazon recommends.

Free WeightsThese are also great to take on vacation to stay active.

These are great for increasing resistance training and adding variety to your workouts. I have 5 lbs, 10 lbs, and 20 lbs so I can vary my workouts. Depending on your fitness level and goals, start with more/less weight. I've linked to the Amazon Basic free weights because of their options.

** I'm not a trainer, and I always recommend speaking with your doctor before beginning a new fitness routine.
